After growing up in Australia's capital, Canberra, Dr Nguyen initially relocated to Queensland to pursue her tertiary studies and has spent several years working as a specialist Orthodontist on the Gold Coast.
Dr Nguyen is an advocate for treating patients in both clear aligners and traditional braces. She understands that patients want the highest level of care delivered in the most convenient manner, which is why Dr Nguyen attends conferences, both nationally and internationally, to stay at the forefront of orthodontic developments and technology. Dr Nguyen believes in providing contemporary and modern orthodontics utilizing the latest technologies available.
At our Warana practice location, Dr Nguyen is an Invisalign® Diamond Provider. She also offers Dental Monitoring for InvisalignⓇ treatment, a remote treatment monitoring software that enables Dr Nguyen to check on the progress of her patients’ InvisalignⓇ treatment.

In addition to her glowing professional qualifications and experience, Dr Nguyen has a passion for sharing her expertise and skills with others, leading her to hold a teaching position in Orthodontics at Griffith University. Dr Nguyen has also presented lectures at the local and international level, showcasing her skills, knowledge and specialism in Orthodontics.
Outside of work, you will find Dr Nguyen learning how to play the acoustic guitar, enjoying Italian food, at a Pilates class, spending time with family and friends or attempting to beat her personal best time completing a Rubix cube, which is 2 minutes!
Debbie is one of our treatment co-ordinators, a role we have specifically created with Ocean Orthodontics patients in mind. Treatment co-ordinators are highly experienced team members who provide new patients with all of the information they need to make informed choices relating to their own or their child’s treatment. Our treatment co-ordinators are with you every step of the way as you work towards achieving a beautiful smile.
Debbie has been with Ocean Orthodontics since 1998 and has been a registered nurse, midwife and dental nurse. She has completed her Diploma of Management as well as various different courses in Human Resource Management and Business Management.
Karen co-ordinates our office and oversees our entire terrific team. She works directly with our orthodontists and clinical director to ensure that all aspects of Ocean Orthodontics run efficiently. If you have any questions that our admin team cannot answer, please let our practice manager Karen know and she will be sure to address your concerns.
Karen has been at Ocean Orthodontics since 2002 and has a Diploma of Management and is completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is a highly experienced practice manager and attends various practice management conferences throughout the year. She also regularly attends various Human Resource Management and Business Management conferences throughout the year. Karen has worked in the administration and management field for over 20 years and is an expert in dental practice management.
Karen enjoys cooking and spending time with her loving family.
Joanne is another one of our valued treatment co-ordinators, here to help your treatment plan unfold seamlessly.
Joanne has experience in both the administration and clinical side of orthodontics, making her a perfect fit for our treatment co-ordinator role. Joanne has completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting and has been a devoted Ocean Orthodontics employee for over ten years.
She has two beautiful girls that keep her busy in her time off and she loves to spend time fishing and swimming at the beach with them.
An oral health therapist is an expert in diagnosing oral health concerns and is qualified to clean and maintain orthodontic braces and assist the orthodontist in various procedures.
Ai-Vi started at Ocean Orthodontics in 2010 and has a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Queensland and has gained extensive experience through her work with various dental practices throughout Australia.
In her free time, she enjoys fishing, adventure sports and trying out all kinds of unique foods.
As Clinical Director, Emily oversees all aspects of our clinical team and ensures every patient receives the same high level of service they should expect at Ocean Orthodontics. She helps establish procedures that make Ocean Orthodontics a leader in setting the highest standards of service, communication and clinical results.
Our dental assistants are vital in assisting the orthodontist during patient treatments. They are also qualified to perform basic procedures and address some of our patients’ dental concerns. Emily joined our team in 2012 and has since completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting. She has over seven years of orthodontic dental assisting experience and is passionate about advancing and up-skilling in the dental field.
Besides liking piña coladas and getting caught in the rain, Emily enjoys the beach, swimming and playing touch football.
Jess is not only a qualified dental assistant but also a qualified lab technician.
Georgie is the newest member of the Ocean Orthodontics team. She still has a solid dental background with a Certification III in Dental Assisting and over ten years of experience. Georgie has a passion for healthy teeth and beautiful smiles.
In her spare time, Georgie loves being with her family, walking her dog on the beach and supporting her son who plays soccer.
Chrissy joined our team in 2016 and is currently studying for her Certificate III in Dental Assisting. Chrissy is passionate about the environment and loves the outdoors. In her spare time, she loves to visit walking trails and has travelled over many around the world.
