Dr Vautin and Jan have been married since 1979 and she has been involved in the practice since its inception in 1990. Prior to this, she gained extensive experience in providing administrative support services to various departments at Princess Alexandra Hospital including the Medical Superintendent. She then transitioned to managing specialist medical practices on Wickham Terrace in Brisbane.
She has a Certificate III in Dental Assisting and a Certificate IV in Dental Radiography. She regularly attends conferences and seminars with Dr Vautin to ensure that the practice is always on the cutting edge.
Our administrative team is our patients’ first point of contact with Ocean Orthodontics, both over the phone and in person. Our administrative teams are highly knowledgeable in addressing patient concerns and explaining dental procedures. Tahlia started at Ocean Orthodontics in 2008 and has completed both her Certificate III in Dental Assisting and Certificate IV in Frontline Management. Tahlia has a passion for food and enjoys dining out and going to the movies in her free time.
Emma, a local Sunshine Coaster, originally joined Instyle Orthodontics in 2003, but left us to explore Canada for two and a half years. She then rejoined the team on her return to the Coast and helps to ensure the treatment area is running smoothly.
Emma has attained her Certificate III in Dental Assisting and has over seven years of experience in assisting Dr Vautin. She is also available to assist with any questions regarding the care and cleaning of your braces.
Alli joined us at the beginning of 2013 to train as part of our clinical staff. She is very skilled in assisting Dr Vautin in all aspects of patient care including chairside assisting, sterilisation and educating patients in the care and maintenance of braces.
As a previous patient, she has undergone braces and knows exactly what is involved at every stage. She is more than happy to answer any questions you may have about wearing braces.
Danielle joined our practice in 2012 after completing Year 12 at Sienna College for a “gap year.” That gap year turned into many years when she decided to postpone her university studies and stay on with our team.
Initially, Dan trained as a chairside assistant, but she is also trained in treatment co-ordination roles. She can usually be found in the treatment area helping Dr Vautin to provide a great experience for our patients. As a past patient, she is also happy to answer any of your questions about braces.

Karla has over 10 years of experience in the dental industry and has her Certificate III in Dental Assisting. Karla likes to spend her free time outdoors taking her dog for walks along the beach.
Dr Sullivan has relocated from Liverpool, England to be with us on the Sunshine Coast.
Since qualifying as a dentist in 2014, Dr Sullivan went on to complete an additional 3 years of specialist training and study in the field of orthodontics, where he was awarded a gold medal for his achievements.
In addition to Dr Sullivan’s experience working in a specialist orthodontic practice in the UK, he has worked at the Liverpool University Dental Hospital treating complex orthodontic cases. He has also worked in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery and has been involved in the teaching of postgraduate orthodontic students.
Dr Sullivan has successfully been granted full registration in Australia as a General Dental Practitioner and is now in the process of having his specialist orthodontic qualification registered in Australia, too.
Dr Sullivan believes in providing modern orthodontic care, utilizing the latest technologies available to provide the greatest level of care and convenience to patients. He ensures he is at the forefront of the latest techniques and developments available by regularly attending conferences and courses in order to further his skills and knowledge.
